Description

From dawn to dusk, the enduring and iconic “Hope Tower” provides a campus-wide orientation point that is constantly in flux as it embodies and presents a layered reading of the Great Plains expanse, atmosphere and multitude of colors. After nightfall, a balance of internal illumination at the base and external illumination focused on the crown transforms the tower into a facetted lantern in the Nebraska night sky.

The reflector panels diminish in width and opacity as they ascend making them gradually and mysteriously meld into the Midwestern sky. Day and night, the tower orients viewers both within the campus and beyond its boundaries, acting as a meeting point for students, faculty and visitors alike.
